Abstract
This paper described a method for determining the degree of oxygenation of hemoglobin spectra having an unknown light path. The extinction values of five selected wavelengths are used. It is particular to this method that the results are largely independent of the kind of light path in the dye. A special calibration method permits to eliminate the influence of a disturbing component superimposed on the spectrum. Due to these properties the method is suited to analyse reflexion spectra of the human skin.
