Functional Neuronavigation And Intraoperative Mr-Imaging In Brain Tumour Surgery
International Congress Series(2001)
摘要
Intraoperative MR-imaging is used in brain tumor surgery to achieve complete tumor removal. Damage of functional eloquent brain areas should be avoided to protect the patient from any surgical-induced harm. We report our experiences in the use of a PC-based system Localite Brain Navigator®, developed for coregistration of preoperative acquired functional MR-datasets (fMRI) with pre- or intraoperative acquired MR-datasets for intraoperative identification of eloquent brain areas. In a pilot series, eight patients with tumors close to the motor cortex were operated with functional Neuronavigation in the open 0.5 T scanner Signa SPi (GE).
