Abstract
to research the effectiveness of BMSCs repairing injured liver in rats and to trace BMSCs in injured liver by in vivo bioluminescence technology (BLI).Methods: Thirty rats with severe liver injured by injecting D-galactosamine and lipopolysaccharide (D-GalN+LPS) were divided to BMSCs group and control group by 1:1 by BMSCs transplantation or not.Liver functions were tested in all the rats at one day before injecting D-GalN+LPS, baseline, day 14, and day 28.Plig labeled BMSCs were transplanted into the rats and were traced by in vivo bioluminescence technology at 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d and 21 d.Results: Serum AST levels in BMSCs transplantation group were significantly lower than that in control group at 14 d (p < 0.01), and serum albumin levels were significantly higher than that in control at 28 d (p < 0.01).Liver inflammation in BMSCs transplantation group were more alleviated than that in control group at 28 d and liver histology closed to normal.BLI tracing showed BMSCs injected by portal vein could colonize in the liver, but luminous intensity decayed over time.BMSCs injected by tail intravenous had no any bioluminescence in liver but in lung.Figure: Tracing BMSCs in injured liver. Conclusions: BMSCs transplantation can repair liver damage and improve biochemical and liver histology, and BMSCs injected by portal vein can colonize in the injured liver.
