Abstract
We have studied the time distribution of 50 unambiguous $K(\\mathrm{neutral})\\ensuremath{\\rightarrow}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{+}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{\\ensuremath{-}}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{0}$. Defining $x+iy=\\frac{\\mathrm{amp}({K}_{S}\\ensuremath{\\rightarrow}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{+}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{\\ensuremath{-}}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{0})}{\\mathrm{amp}({K}_{L}\\ensuremath{\\rightarrow}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{+}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{\\ensuremath{-}}{\\ensuremath{\\pi}}^{0})}$, we obtain $x={{2.75}_{\\ensuremath{-}0.60}}^{+0.65}$, $y={{0.50}_{\\ensuremath{-}0.55}}^{+0.70}$ by the maximum-likelihood technique; our results are roughly consistent with $\\mathrm{CP}$ conservation. The kaons were produced by ${K}^{\\ensuremath{-}}p$ charge exchange at 400 $\\frac{\\mathrm{MeV}}{c}$ in the 30-in. BNL hydrogen bubble chamber.
