Patient Derived Benefits and Feasibility of a Remote Monitoring Program for Implantable Cardiac Devices

Introduction: Prevalence of implanted cardiac rhythm-management devices is increasing with increased device follow-up requirements. Routine clinic follow-up imposes significant physical, financial and time burdens for patients. Devices with remote monitoring capability can potentially alter requirements for physical follow-up and provide closer monitoring of device parameters.
