Abstract
An ice-like T4(2) 6(2) water tape was self-assembled in a novel proton-transfer salt, (enH(2))(3)[Zn(AEDP)(2)]center dot 6H(2)O(1), which bonds to the salt host via hydrogen bonds. Thermogravimetry analysis shows that the water tape can change to tetramer water clusters by heating at 100 degrees C, which are completely removed at 200 degrees C. Interestingly, the dehydrated complex can be regenerated in water vapor.
