摘要
Respondents involved in the international activities of 70 business schools were asked to rate their school's international aspirations and achievements in nine aspects of internationalization. The sample divided into universities in a Western cultural setting and a set in an Eastern cultural setting. There were significant differences in the strategic aspirations of the two sets. These differences in aspirations led to differing internationalization outcomes in which institutions typically performed better in those aspects of internationalization upon which they were focused. Explanations for the differences are suggested in terms of differing strategic and economic priorities, supply and demand, career opportunity costs and professional accreditation.
