Valvoplastia mitral sem suporte em crianças - técnica de De Vega Modificada: relato de casos

We report on three cases of mitral regurgitation in children at age of 7 months, 5 months and 10 years old. In two of them, the etiology was congenital and the other was rheumatic. The surgical technique used was valvuloplasty without support using De Vega modified technique isolated or associated with others. One of the children was reoperated seven years the first surgery. All the patients were rated New York Association Class III before the sugery. After it, they were at Class I with good outcome. All patients survived, without complications. According with the literature, mitral regurgitation can be treated with mitral valvuloplasty without support, using others surgical techniques, with excelents outcomes. We report here one more option to its treatment especially in children and adolescents. This technique is easily perfomed and results in the growth of mitral valve along the life.
