Acknowledgments The CRELES project (Costa Rica study on longevity and healthy aging) is a longitudinal study carried out by the Centro Centroamericano de Población at Universidad de Costa Rica, in collaboration with the Instituto de Investigaciones en Salud and San Juan de Dios Hospital’s laboratories, with the support of the Wellcome Trust Foundation (Grant N. 072406/Z/03/Z).
