Studies on synthesis and properties of pH sensitive fluorescent polymers

A novel fluorescent functional monomer(2-methacryloxy) phenyl aldehyde thiosemicarbazone(ScMA) was synthesized and copolymerized with N-vinylpyrrolidone(NVP) to get a series of fluorescent copolymers(PVP-ScMAⅠ,PVP-ScMAⅡ and PVP-ScMAⅢ).1H NMR was used to characterize this monomer.Results of fluorescence measurements showed that the fluorescent intensities of these copolymers were very sensitive to the changes of pH in the condition of alkali and there were almost no response to the changes of pH in the neutral and acidic circumstance.
