Abstract
Abstract The depolarization ratio of light scattered from gaseous nitrogen has been measured at pressures up to 440 bar and 310 K. The molecular specific scattering (including the effects of the orientational pair correlations labelled OPC), the collision induced scattering (CIS), and their interferences are estimated in the DID approximation. The agreement with the experimental data is rather good.
