Abstract
BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Limitations to early ambulation subsequent to spine surgery can be attributed both to the invasive nature of the surgery and to inadequate peri and post operative pain control. Given the trend toward early discharge of patients and in an effort to improve surgical outcomes, minimally invasive methods have come into vogue. Ketorolac tromethamine (ketorlac) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with proven efficacy in decreasing post-operative pain in various surgical settings. However, some studies have raised questions regarding the potential side effects of this agent, particularly bleeding within the surgical wound.
