Treatment for comminuted fracture of head of humerus in elderly patients by internal fixation with trilobal plate and triangle lliac transplantation

Objective To evaluate the outcomes of treatment for comminuted fracture of head of humerus in elderly patients by internal fixation with trilobal plate and triangle lliac transplantation.Methods 21 elderly patients with comminuted fracture of head of humerus were operated for internal fixation with trilobal plate and lliac transplantation.All the patients were followed up from 8 to 18 months to evaluate the function of shoulder joint and the probability of bone fusion.Results In addition to an example occurred screw loose and abnormal osseous fusion,all of them can been osseous fusion.the function were evaluated according to constant functional score system,the excellent rate were 85%.Conclusion The internal fixation with trilobal plate and triangle lliac transplantation is an effective method to treat comminuted fracture of head of humerus in elderly patients.
