Abstract
Protective factors such as connectedness to family, school, and community have long been associated with lower risk of problem behaviors among teens in school-based surveys. While studies have found bisexual youth (& gay/lesbian peers) at higher risk for behaviors such as pregnancy or suicide, it is unclear whether they lack these protective factors. This study explored the prevalence of protective factors among bisexual teens (B) compared to their heterosexual (H), mostly heterosexual (MH) and gay or lesbian (G/L) peers in 7 school-based surveys.
