Abstract

Objective: To explore the efficacy of uterine artery embolization for the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods: 21 cases of adenomyosis were treated with uterine artery embolization using Polythene vinyl alcohol(PVA), Pingyangmycin. Super lipiodol emulsion and gelatin sponge particles embolization . Results : For dysmenorrheal, complete remission was 85.7%, partial remission was 14.3%. Uterine volume decreased 53.4% at 6 months, partial lesion volume decreased 56.7. Anemia was alleviated at varying degree. Conclusion : uterine artery embolization for the treatment of adenomyosis is safe and effective means.
