Abstract
The traditional calculating methods of lightning performance parameters are failed when the lighting arrester is installed,which strongly influences arrester analysis.By the alternative transient program/electrical-magnetic transient program(ATP-EMTP) software,the lightning withstand level and shunting coefficient are being simulate studied after lightning arrester installed.It improves the safety protection effectively,calculates conveniently and gets correctly result.The calculating methods and process are introduced.
