Abstract
A new method for the rapid determination of benzyl chloride in water has been established by coupling nonequilibrium solid2phase microextraction (SPME) with gas chromatography2mass spectrometry ( GC2MS) . It takes only 15 minutes for the whole process. A manual SPME holder with 85μm polyacrylate coating is used to extract benzyl chloride from water , It has a good linear range of 1~50μg/ L , the detection limit of 0. 91μg/ L , and relative standard deviation of 9. 86 %. The method has been used to determine benzyl chloride in river water with satisfactory results. Keywords Nonequilibrium solid2phase microextraction , gas chromatography2mass spectrometry , benzyl chloride
