Institutional Changes Between General Education and Specialized Education in Modern Chinese Higher Education——From the Perspective of New Institutional Economics

摘要
Through combing the historical vein of changes between general education and specialized education in Chinese higher education,the research shows that institutions of general education and specialized education have appeared pendulous,imprinted with distinct features of different historical periods.When the supply-demand theory of new economics is applied to explain the phenomenon,an institutional equilibrium—institutional disequilibrium—institutional equilibrium mechanism of emergence and development is revealed in educational changes.Considering that general education in China calls for more progress,some suggestions,based on history and supply-demand theory,are provided for making policies of general education in modern Chinese higher education from the perspectives of demand and supply.
