Hematuria and clot retention after Burch colposuspension and Cystofix suprapubic catheterization: Suprapubic cystotomy as an alternative suprapubic drainage method

Suprapubic catheterization is a common procedure in continence surgery and hematuria is a common complication after suprapubic catheterization. The authors report an unusual case of acute clot retention after the removal of a Cystofix suprapubic catheter in a patient who had had a Burch colposuspension. Suprapublic cystotomy as an alternate suprapublic method is also discussed.
