Abstract
Starch microspheres(SM)were prepared by reverse phase suspension emulsion process using soluble starch as basic material with epichlorohydrin as the crosslinking agent. The SM could be used for manufacture of controlled-release fragrance preparations. The product was observed by inverted fluorescence microscope. Results showed that the SM is in spherical shape and has a rough surface. When the concentration of rose fragrance is 40%(φ),the temperature is at 45 ℃ and the adsorption time is 1.5 h,the adsorption amount can achieve 0.85 g/g.Results from ultraviolet spectrophotometry showed that fragrance content adsorbed in the microspheres decresed slowly and gradually with the time. The release rate declines gradually too.
