Abstract
A 13-month-old Sprague Dawley rat developed a slow-growing mass on the lateral right pinna. The mass contained neoplastic spindle-shaped pericytes that were oriented around vascular structures, Reticulin fibers surrounded the tumor cells and blood vessels. This is the first report of a spontaneous hemangiopericytoma in rats.
