Spatial Distribution of Soil Organic Carbon and Total Nitrogen in Mollisols in the Northeast of China

Based on the classical statistic method,the spatial distribution of soil organic carbon(SOC) and total nitrogen(TN) of 1100 surface samples in the Mollisol area of the Northeast of China was investigated.The mean concentrations of SOC and TN are 19.25g kg~(-1) and 1.89g kg~(-1),respectively.The concentrations of SOC and TN increased gradually from south to north following latitude changes with relative coefficient 0.70 and 0.76 respectively.The significant positive conrelation of SOC,TN with clay contents was found,while negative of SOC,TN with sand contents was obvious(P0.01).Nevertheless,SOC is positively related to silt contents(P0.05).but there is no such a correlation for TN.
