Effect of the expectant management time in early onset severe preeclampsia on maternal and perinatal outcome and prognosis

Objective To determine the difference of expectant management in early onset severe preeclampsia on maternal and perinatal prognosis.Methods 137 patients' data with severe preeclampsia who delivered in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital form January 2006 to January 2012 were analyzed and the mothers and their infants were followed up in postpartum.The patients were divided into 3 groups according to their pregnancy termination time.GroupⅠ: pregnancy termination in 2 days after hospitalization; GroupⅡ: pregnancy termination in 37 days; Group Ⅲ: pregnancy termination in more than 7 days after hospitalization.Results The maternal clinical characteristics of age,blood pressure and urine protein amount were the same and of no statistical significant( P 0.05).The incidence of maternal and perinatal complications was of no significant among there groups( P 0.05).The perinatal morbidity and mortality were 60.5%,46.2%,30.9% and 53.5%,41.0%,21.8% respectively and were of statistical significant( P 0.05).The mother chronic hypertension incidence was 19.7% and the infant abnormal intelligence development rate was 18.6%,the difference were of no statistical significant( P 0.05).Conclusion Expectant management is possible in some women with early onset severe preeclampsia and their perinatal outcomes are improved obviously,but this disease increase the risk of chronic hypertension and abnormal intelligence development of morther and infant.
