E0 transition in 74Se
Nuclear Physics A(1984)
Abstract
Transitions in 74Se have been studied using the radioactivities produced by bombarding 46Ti with 155 MeV 35Cl ions. The E0 transitions from the 853.8 keV excited 0+ state to the ground state in 74Se have been observed with a mechanical lifetime filter. The ratio of the E0 to E2 transition probabilities of the 0+ state, X(E0E2), is deduced to be 0.13±0.02. Combining the measured ratio with the published lifetime of the 0+ state, the monopole strength, |ϱ(E0)| = 0.16 ± 0.02, is obtained and compared with predictions by some current models.
