Bilateral enhancing lesions of cerebellar dentate nuclei secondary to metronidazole therapy

Metronidazole is frequently used in the treatment of anaerobic and amebic infections, as well as hepatic encephalopathy. This medication produces a number of neurologic side effects including peripheral neuropathy, seizures, and cerebellar dysfunction.
