Physical User Interface Design for Visualizations

In technology, efficiency is maintained by improvin g the interaction between the human and the computer. Computer Scientists are concerned with in creasing the usability of user interfaces. We ran two empirical research studies, Comparing Multi-dimensional User Interface Controls, related to physical user interface design, and Comparing Graphic Landscape Representations ,. The former focused on testing how efficient users a re at performing a simple task using various input devices, while the latter determined the user s' ability to remember various types of landscapes. These studies were relevant as they had applications in fuel cells, and medical imaging. Immediately following are two papers, each one outlining one of the studies.
