Abstract
Cochlear implants and hearing aids are widely used by children with hearing loss. These children attend special schools, integrating classes or typical classes with parallel support.The aim of this paper is to compare the speech and language development of children using cochlear implants with those using hearing aid.The Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities(1) and the Test of Language Development - Primary 2(2) were used.The results revealed that children with cochlear implants demonstrated a better performance that those with hearing aids.
