Abstract
To solve the peak shaving and the abandoning problems caused by the wind generation installed capacity which is more than certain percentage,and to improve the output characteristics of wind power,the mode of constructing a pumped storage power station supported by wind farm can be adopted.This paper is based on modeling the wind farm and pumped storage power station operation,targets at the hybrid wind power and pumped hydro storage systems economic benefits.A new adaptive genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the best capacity ratio of pumped storage power station to wind generation.Finally,a practical example simulation result shows the combined revenues of wind farm can be improved by the proper capacity allocation of pumped storage power station.
