摘要
Two fractions with LH-RH and FSH-RH activities purified from human hypothalamic tissue were administered to 2 normal men. Injection of the first fraction resulted in a mean increase in serum LH of 163% and in serum FSH of 24.5%, while the second fraction induced a mean increase in serum LH of 140% and in serum FSH of 12%. When compared to the 16.5% increase in serum LH and 4% increase in serum FSH following injection of an amount of arginine vasopressin equivalent to that contained in the hypothalamic preparations, only the release of LH by each fraction was statistically significant. It is concluded that the material purified from hypothalamic tissue at autopsy stimulates the release of LH in man and thus probably represents human LH-RH.
