Abstract
The production of D0BAR-mesons on hydrogen and nuclear targets (carbon and aluminium) by (38-70) GeV neutrons has been analysed. The decay mode D0BAR --> K+pi-pi+pi- has been studied. The longitudinal p(L) and transverse PT momenta have been reconstructed and described by the forms (1 - X(F))N with N = 2.3(-0.3)+0.2 and exp(-Bp(T)2) with B = (1.3(-0.3)+0.2) (GeV/c)-2, respectively. In the sensitive kinematic region of (30 less-than-or-equal-to p(L) less-than-or-equal-to 60) GeV/c (X(F) greater than or similar to 0.5) and p(T) less-than-or-equal-to 1GeV/c the cross sections are: sigma(H-2) = (3.1 +/- 1.1) mub, sigma(c) = (27.5 +/- 9.3) mub/C nucleus and sigma(Al) = (49.6 +/- 16.3) mub/Al nucleus. The dependence of the DO-production cross section on the atomic weight A was parametrized by the power law form sigma(A) = K sigma(H-2)A(alpha) with K = 1.5 +/- 0.8 and alpha = 0.73 +/- 0.23.
