Congestion control for industrial ethernet using network calculus

The paper presents a new congestion control arithmetic based on the application of the Min- Plus Algebra and Max- Plus Algebra in network analysis,so as to settle the real-time data transmission problem in industrial Ethernet . At first,we use the instrument in determinate network calculus theory to study the typical model of the network data stream in industrial Ethernet, through which we can get the real-time arrives curve and service parameters such as the largest network delay .Then with the results,we developed a servicescurve-based strategy of the queue according to the request of network capability when transmit the real-time data.Moreover,we set up a subsection control model to resolve Industrial Ethernet rate wobling and other issues, thus ensuring the stability of information transmission in the real-time control network. Finally, simulate the algorithm with the NS2, and analyse the simulation results to verify the required performance and reliability of the arithmetic. © 2008 IEEE.
