Doctor Zigang Dong is Executive Director, McKnight Presidential Professor of Cancer Prevention, Hormel/Knowlton Professor, and I. J. Holton Professor of The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota. He also serves as Executive Director of the US China (Henan) Hormel Cancer Institute in Zhengzhou, China. Dr. Dong has conducted pioneering work in elucidating the ultraviolet/chemical carcinogen-induced signal transduction pathways as molecular targets for chemopreventive agents in carcinogenesis. Dr. Dong and his team was one of the first to combine supercomputer computational screening and laboratory validation methods in the discovery of novel drugs for cancer prevention and co-crystallization of various natural chemopreventive agents with their target proteins.
