Bio
I am an oceanographer with ten years of significant experience that includes metocean data processing, analysis, and interpretation, as well as solid and deep knowledge of physical oceanography. Being familiar with both theory and practical aspects of meteorology and oceanography, I can grasp the objective of projects quickly in order to take action, and/or identify the root of a problem in order to formulate and launch a solution.
I am highly capable of providing meteorological and oceanographic expertise to support the development and operation of oil and gas or service and engineering initiatives worldwide. This could include the development of meteorological and oceanographic criteria for the design of offshore facilities and pipelines incorporating state-of-the-art tools. I can also work on identifying operational criteria for marine drilling, installation, transportation, and construction projects. I am skilled in gathering, processing, and analyzing all relevant metocean data involving waves, winds, water currents, temperatures, salinity, turbulence.
My background is strong in both education and research, including physical, observational, and coastal oceanography. My analysis experience and data evaluation methods include statistical, tidal, spectral, wavelet, time series, persistence, and coherence analysis. I have worked with data involving ocean currents, temperature, salinity, winds, air temperature, sea surface height, turbulence, and dissolved oxygen – these have been collected from deepwater mooring systems, weather stations, ship-based observations, autonomous underwater vehicles, satellites, buoys, and Argo floats. I have significant programming experience, am well published, and am experienced in presenting before scientific audiences.
Specialties: Metocean engineering, coastal oceanography, physical oceanography, observational oceanography, meteorology, data analysis, statistical analysis, oceanic turbulence, autonomous underwater vehicle, coastal observation, spectral analysis, wavelet analysis, mathematical approaches, statistics theories, field experience, small-scale turbulence theory and analysis.
