从事(1)高速度高精度多尺度加工研究,目前偏重于激光工艺和混合工艺,主要应用于摩擦减阻类的表面处理,高效率冷却,先进打孔和三维加工。(2)多种冲击强化工艺的理论与实验研究,包括激光冲击强化及其它强化工艺,应用于提升加工件的应力分布和疲劳强度。(3)智能能量场制造与创新方法论的系统化研究,旨在融合当前的先进工程制造思想(Lean Manufacturing, TRIZ, Six Sigma, Intelligent Manufacturing, Sustainable Engineering 等),探索适应中国国情的前瞻性工程方法和工具。
