Zenghai Li

Zenghai Li received the B.Sc. degree from Hebei University. Baoding, China, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, USA, in 1995, both in physics. He was a Postdoctorate from 1995 to 1997 and a staff physicist since 1997 with SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He is currently an Accelerator Physicist in the Technology Innovation Directorate at SLAC. His main expertise is in accelerator physics, RF accelerator structures, and computational electromagnetics. He has been involved in the R&D of many accelerator projects such as the Next Linear Accelerator, the International Linear Collider, the SLAC Linac Coherent Light Source, and the Large Hadron Collider projects. He has contributed to the design and development of a wide range of accelerator RF cavity and components, including normal conducting and superconducting accelerator structures, RF deflectors, beamline diagnostic RF cavities, and RF power distribution components. He is also involved in the development of the parallel finite element multiphysics simulation tools at SLAC and has applied these tools to the RF, thermal, mechanical, and microphonics studies of both normal and SRF structures. He was the Coinstructor for the “computational accelerator physics” class for the U.S. Particle Accelerator School in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2005.
