Zechao Zhuang

I obtained my doctorate degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 2019. Since then, I have been engaged in postdoctoral research at the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, and the Department of Chemical Engineering, Columbia University. My research focuses on spintroelectrochemistry and operando spectroscopy. I discovered the spin-dependent electronic transport behavior of the active phase/site during the electrode process and its manipulation mechanism, and designed a series of high-performance electrocatalysts based on the use of spin polarization to break the scaling relation limitation. The results of my research were published as 30 articles in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, including Nat. Catal., Nat. Commun., Matter, Adv. Mater. (2), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (3), and Energy Environ. Sci. (2), with me as (co-)first author or corresponding author. My all co-authored publications have been cited more than 4,700 times so far, and my h-index is 38. I was selected into the first batch of Shuimu Tsinghua Scholar Program (2019), and I am also a member of the Young Star Editorial Board of Nano Research (2023).
