个人简介
Dr. Chen's expertise is on high-performance buildings, with focuses on energy efficiency and peak demand reduction through thermal energy storage, daylighting, intelligent operation, utilization of renewable energy, and their integrated design and operation.
His current research projects include:
- Portable energy-efficient greenhouses for cold regions
- Robust removal of snow coverage on solar PV panels
- Intelligent high-performance communities and buildings
- Design and operation of hybrid space and water heating systems
He is currently offering the following courses in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta:
- Fundamentals of Building Science and Engineering
- Design and Operation of Energy Efficient Buildings
- Engineering Mechanics - Statics
