Bio
Yura is a principal consultant working in the Spadeadam Research and Innovation team within the Energy Systems providing experienced technical analysis and opinion to customers in the areas of hydrogen and its derivatives and applying research into liquid hydrogen for the energy transition.
He has over 12 years of experience working with hydrogen in multiple sectors, and 20 years overall in academic and industrial R&D. The industrial and academic experience with hydrogen spans both aerospace and energy, developed full scale combustors for aerospace and academia, has combusted ammonia and investigated it for storage and safety and been involved in the wider research with deflagration and detonation of various gaseous and liquid fuels. Written journal papers in hydrogen combustion, aerospace emissions and energy; lead in development of experimental rigs for applied questions and is often the interface between industry and academia, working to apply the fundamental knowledge for industry in hydrogen, ammonia and alternative aviation fuels.
Yura currently uses his hydrogen knowledge to advise stakeholders in the aerospace energy transition, design programmes for validation for fundamental research and advise academic interest for industrial engagement.
