Dr. Harik currently serves as a member of eleven societies, and holds offices in four of them. He is also a member of a Federal Highway Administration Council, and a member of the earhtquake advisory panel for the Governor of Kentucky. He has authored and co-authored over 100 technical publications.
Yukihiko Matsumuras areas of research and technical work includes heat transfer, supercritical water technology and biomass utilization. His current research topics are supercritical water gasification of biomass, hydrothermal pretreatment of lignocellulosics for ethanol fermentation, dehumidification of air using chemical reaction, and heat transfer characteristics of supercritical water. He is the manager of Biomass Division, Japan Institute of Energy, and Asia Biomass Association.
Professor Yukihiko Matsumura is primarily advancing research into biomass. Biomass is the organic matter which is a byproduct of animals and plants such as grass, trees and seaweed. The research shows that by successfully utilizing biomass, the production of energy and materials is possible.
Prof. Yukihiko Matsumura has involved in social activities, like committee members, organizing academic conferences,and etc. He was also awarded for 13 awards in 2013-2017.
