Bio
Yuichi Kurita (Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree from Osaka University, in 2000, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in information science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan, in 2002 and 2004, respectively.
From 2005 to 2007, he was a Research Associate with the Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan. From 2007 to 2011, he was an Assistant Professor with the Graduate School of Information Science, NAIST. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Visiting Scholar with the School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. In 2011, he joined the Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University, as an Associate Professor, and has been a Professor, since 2018. He is also an Assistant to the President by Special Appointment and the Director of the Applied Human Augmentation Project Research Center, Hiroshima University. His research interests include human augmentation, haptics, and human–robot interaction.
Prof. Kurita is a member of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Robotics Society of Japan, the Virtual Reality Society of Japan, and the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers.
