Scientific focus areas: cell biology, 3D cell culture, animal physiology and immunology, infectious disease, inflammation, lactation physiology.
My main focus is to understand how animals and animal products can be affected by dietary components, and characterise dietary ingredients with specific health benefits for animal and human by using animal and cell models. I am also working on cellular agriculture where we try to produce milk components by culturing mammary cells.
Special focus areas are:
1) Cell-based screening for novel bioactive components from natural extracts.
2) Impact of nutritional and bioactive components on cell physiology and immune response.
3) Effect of probiotics, nutritional and bioactive components by use of animal and cell-based model.
4). 3D cell culture techniques, including extracellular matrix and organoids.
5) Producing milk components by culturing mammary cells.
