Bio
Yuan received her BE in Electronic information Engineering from Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT), Taiyuan, China. She completed her ME in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power electronics from the same university. After 10 years of professional research, she started to work as a research engineer at the university of Auckland where he completed her PhD in Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering with specialization in wireless power transfer. Since 2013 she has been based in New Zealand.
Her expertise involves inductive power transfer, system level analysis, design, control, and optimization, power electronics hardware design and software programming control.
Her research interests span the fundamental mechanism of inductive power transfer systems to figure out the real/reactive power flow and distribution. Now her current focus is towards integration of portable energy storage such as electric vehicles to the grid based on V2G/G2V technology.
she is an IEEE member now and serves for IEEE women in engineering society as a secretary. And she actively takes part in the activities organized by IEEE New Zealand North Section and IEEE Power and Energy Society.
