Yu Zhang

Yu Zhang received the Ph.D. degree in digital signal processing from the Institute of Acoustics (IoA), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2004 and then continue doing research work in there. In 2006, he joined France Telecom R&D Center Beijing as a Researcher on wireless sensor network. After six years’ working, in 2012, he went back to IoA and leaded the research work on WSN of two national-level projects. In 2016, he became a Senior Engineer with the Academy of Broadcasting Science (ABS), National Radio and Television Administration, China. He is the Chief Scientist of 5G Broadcast Technology with ABS. He has participated in and leaded several research works in national-level projects, such as the projects under the umbrella programs “new generation broadband wireless mobile communication network” and “broadband communication and new type of network.” His main research direction is 5G broadcast physical channel and mobile broadcast convergence architecture. He also participates in the standardization of 5G Broadcast in 3GPP as the delegate of ABS.
