2018年获得国家基金委“优秀青年基金”支持。相关研究成果以通讯作者或第一作者发表在Science, Nature, Cell, eLife, Nucleic Acid Research, JBC等国际期刊上。
基因组中的遗传信息得以表达,需要RNA聚合酶进行转录。以DNA为模板合成RNA的转录过程不仅是基因表达第一步,还是基因表达的主要调控步骤。因此对RNA聚合酶分子机器结构、运行机理以及调控机制的研究能够回答基因表达精密调控的基础生物学问题。同时细菌之间RNA聚合酶非常保守,而细菌与人RNA聚合酶保守性较差,因此细菌RNA聚合酶是抗细菌药物的优良靶点,现有两类靶向细菌RNA聚合酶的临床使用抗生素--利福平(Rifamycins)与非达酶素(Fidaxomicin)。
