主要利用激光LiDAR、无人机倾斜摄影、多光谱、高光谱遥感技术，实现农情监测、水质环境监测、大气污染监测等应用。主持科学基金4项，参与了973项目课题、美国国家航空和宇宙航行局（NASA）项目等。发表期刊论文30余篇；会议论文15余篇；参与发明专利申请7项、实用新型专利1项、软件著作权5项；参与书籍撰写5部。担任ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing、International Journal of Remote Sensing、International Journal of Digital Earth、Computer and Electronics in Agriculture、Science of the Total Environment、Agricultural and Forest Meteorology、Journal of Applied Science and Engineering、地理与地理信息科学、中国稀土学报、农业机械学报等期刊的审稿人。
