个人简介
Dr. Kim has been principal investigator or co-principal investigator on numerous research projects. His research endeavors have resulted in an approximate total of $3.0 million ($2.4 million as a principal investigator) in external funds over the last six years. His primary research has been in the varoius areas such as the mechanistic constitutive modeling of geomaterials, performance prediction and evaluation of civil infrastructure systems, and green highway/pavement engineering. Dr. Kim has written 30 refereed journal papers and over 25 conference papers and research reports. In 2007 he was awarded the CAREER grant from National Science Foundation. He is also a recipient of the Walter J. Emmons Best Paper Award in 2006 adn the Nomination of the Best Paper K.B. Woods Award at the 2004 TransportationResearch Board (TRB) Annual Meeting. He received the Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award from the College of Engineering in 2007 and the Faculty Recognition Award from the Department of Civil Engineering in 2009, in recognition of his research/creavtive accomplishments.
