Bio
I completed my PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia in December 2019 and joined the laboratory of Peter van Galen at Brigham and Women's Hospital / Harvard Medical School in 2021. My graduate work focused on the characterization of the numerical and functional fitness of human dendritic cell (DC) subsets in solid cancer, specifically in advanced melanoma. My work uncovered a deterioration of human DC function in patients unresponsive to checkpoint inhibition (eg. anti-CTLA-4 / anti-PD-1). I have a keen interest in cancer immunotherapy and am experienced in working with primary human tissues and cells (bone marrow, blood, tumor etc.), multi-parameter flow cytometry and other immunology-based methods, western blot analysis, DNA/RNA isolation, and single-cell sequencing.
