Yingtong Zhang(张莹彤)

Yingtong Zhang received the B.S. degree in geomatics from Hohai University, Nanjing, China, in 2014, and the M.S. degree in cartography and geographical information system from the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China, in 2017. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with Dr. Curtis Woodcock’s Group, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA. She is interested in using remote sensing data to characterize the forest disturbances and ecosystem dynamics specifically in the arctic boreal region. Her work is trying to understand the primary ways ecosystems change in response to the changing climate and how to monitor different kinds of changes in high-latitude regions. Before moving to Boston, she was involved in a National Science and Technology Foundation program of Ground Feature Spectral Library Construction during her master’s at CAS, where she built the theoretical basis on quantitative remote sensing.
