Bio
Yingdong He, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for the Built Environment (CBE), University of California, Berkeley. His research interests cover the areas of thermal comfort, energy-flexible buildings, and regional energy systems. Dr. He has participated in more than ten research projects, funded by the National Science Foundation of USA, Department of Energy of USA, California Energy Commission, the Natural Science Foundation of China, and more. Dr. He’s research work includes field investigations, lab testing, simulations, and software development. Dr. He has published more than 50 academic papers, including 20+ first /corresponding author papers.
Dr. He received his Ph.D. in 2019 from Hunan University, China, with the honors of “Best Student Researcher” and “Excellent Graduate” of the year. His Ph.D. research topic is human thermal comfort and energy-use behaviors with personal comfort systems in buildings. In recent years, Dr. He also received multiple awards, including the Second Prize for Science & Technology Development/Achievement of the China Ministry of Education, ASHRAE Golden Gate Award, China National Scholarship (in 2015, 2016, and 2018), and more.
