Bio
Ying Zhou, Professor (Third Grade),Ph. D. Candidate Tutor. Prof. Ying Zhou was born in 1971. Since 1998, she has finished her doctoral study of pharmaceutical chemistry in Peking University Health Science Center and postdoc research in medical center, University of Kentucky. She now works as a dean in college of pharmaceutical sciences, Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and concurrently the director of Southwest China Medicinal and Edible Resources Development and Utilization National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center. As the leader of Guizhou Province Pharmaceutical and Food Resources Research and Development of Innovative Talent Team, Prof. Ying Zhou has many titles, such as the chief scientist of National Key Research and Development Program, New Century Excellent Researcher of China's Ministry of Education, National Baogang Excellent Teacher,National May-First Woman Pacesetter,Province Managing Expert of Guizhou Province, Outstanding Master's Supervisor of Guizhou province, Outstanding Young Scientific Talent of Guizhou Province, Guizhou Province First High-level Innovative Personnel. In addition, she also works part-time as the professional drug reviewer of State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), the evaluation expert of National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) and International Cooperation Ministry of National Science Project, the vice-chairman of Guizhou province Association of Chinese Medicine and the executive member of the council of Guizhou Province Pharmaceutical Association.
Since 2005, Prof. Ying Zhou has long engaged in the research and development of Traditional Chinese Medicines and large health products, which mainly includes three research directions: 1. Research and development of new drugs with natural active ingredients as lead compounds; 2. Chinese Medicine pharmacodynamic substances basic and quality control research; 3. Research and development of medicinal and edible homologous products. In the past five years, she has hosted 19 national research projects including national science and technology support plan sub-projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, and Guizhou Province major projects (the research funding is more than 15 million RMB, including three national-level scientific research projects, provincial and ministerial research projects, totally 13 items). Being as first author and correspondent author has published more than 200 core academic research papers (over 60 are included in SCI), meanwhile authorized 13 invention patents, and published two monographs, presided over the development of 12 new products, and won the second prize of Guizhou Province, which be ranked first (one item).
